Former Argentina international Carlos Tevez has informed Independiente that he will step down as head coach after Sunday’s match against Platense.

According to Argentine media, "El Apache" has communicated his resignation to the Avellaneda club, where he arrived on August 22, 2023, to replace Ricardo Zielinski and end a series of poor results that allowed the club to avoid relegation.

This was Tevez's second experience as a coach, following his tenure at Rosario Central, where he finished with a record of six wins, 11 draws, and seven losses.

If he follows through with his decision this weekend, Tevez will end his stint at Independiente on a positive note, having achieved 14 wins, 11 draws, and six losses in 31 matches.
