Neymar's Compassionate Gesture Towards Flood Victims in Brazil
Neymar, the forward for Saudi club Al-Hilal, has sent humanitarian aid with his private planes to the flood victims in southern Brazil, an action he has shared to encourage donations for that region of the country.
"I don't like to post everything I do or where I help because those who do it... do it from the heart and not out of obligation. So this message is to encourage people to help even more," said the Brazilian national team star on his X profile.
The former player of Santos, Barcelona, and PSG thanked the pilots of his planes for transporting the aid to Rio Grande do Sul, the state most affected by river overflow, which borders Argentina and Uruguay.
"Our Brazil is going through a delicate moment and helping is NEVER too much, regardless of one's financial condition. What matters is what one carries in the heart," he expressed.
The forward, who is recovering from a serious knee injury in Saudi Arabia, said he is "praying from a distance for everything to return to normal," while his father, Neymar da Silva Santos, "takes care of everything and provides all possible assistance" to the victims.
According to the latest report from the Civil Defense, the torrential rains of the past week in Rio Grande do Sul have caused at least 90 deaths, 132 missing persons, and nearly 1.4 million affected individuals.
