World champion Lewis Hamilton was 0.141 seconds faster than team-mate Nico Rosberg in the first practice session at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Lewis Hamilton edged out Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg in the first practice session at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Friday.
Rosberg has won the last two races in Mexico and Brazil after Hamilton wrapped up a third world title with victory at the United States Grand Prix.
Hamilton claimed that his car had not been the same since Singapore - a suggestion which baffled Rosberg - but the Brit set the pace in FP1 as he eyes a repeat of his Abu Dhabi triumph last year which secured his second world title.
The world champion was 0.141 seconds faster than Rosberg at the Yas Marina Circuit, with the German - assured of second place in the drivers' standings - hampered by a long brake pedal and being told to pit due to low pressure in his left rear tyre.
Hamilton clocked a best time of 1:43.754 after earlier raising questions to his team over his rear wing setting, seating position and steering wheel.
Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen was another six-tenths slower in third place, with Daniil Kvyat fourth quickest ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Nico Hulkenberg.
