Hastings joins Sea Eagles
Jackson Hastings has signed with the Manly Sea Eagles, ending his stay with the Sydney Roosters.
Manly Sea Eagles have signed Sydney Roosters utility Jackson Hastings on a two-year deal.
Hastings, 20, fell down the pecking order at the Roosters, but gets a chance to kick-start his NRL career at the Sea Eagles after playing 15 games in 2016.
Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett believes Hastings is capable of earning a starting spot at Manly.
"Jackson is a young player with tremendous talent who can easily play several positions," he said.
"He comes to Manly looking to secure a permanent starting spot and his experience gives us good depth in and around the halves and at hooker."
Hastings, who made his NRL debut in 2014, has previously represented the Junior Kangaroos.
He is the son of Roosters great Kevin Hastings, who played for the club in the 1970s and 80s.
