Danilo's late stunner sinks Bologna
Udinese left it late, but a sensational stoppage time volley from Danilo secured all three points against 10-man Bologna at Stadio Friuli on Tuesday (AEDT).
Bologna came close to taking the lead in the opening 10 minutes, but Matteo Destro's couldn't keep his volley down from point blank range.
Both sides then struggled to break the deadlock in a cagey affair, but the match sprung to life when Bologna was reduced to 10 men after Erick Puglar received a second yellow card in the 68th minute.
Roberto Donadoni's men fought valiantly with 10 men and kept the home side at bay until the final minute of stoppage time, when Udinese defender Danilo scored a sensational volley to send the home crowd into raptures.
Silvan Widmer broke down the right and cut it back for Danilo, and the defender met the cross with a perfectly timed volley which cannoned off the underside of the cross bar and went in to give Udinese a memorable win.
