Lorient escapes dropzone with derby win at Rennes
Lorient moved out of the Ligue 1 relegation zone with a 2-1 win at Rennes, dropping Montpellier into the dangerzone after it could only draw 2-2 at home with Strasbourg.
Mohamed Bamba scored the first goal in the 59th minute after a goalless first half, and Eli Junior Kroupi ensured the three points with a second in the final minute of normal time.
Amine Gouiri's strike gave Rennes some late hope four minutes into stoppage-time, but it was too little too late for the hosts.
