Canada 1-1 Bosnia-Herzegovina | FT
FIFA World Cup 2026™ co-hosts Canada take on Bosnia-Herzegovina in the opening clash of Group B.
Fellow co-hosts Mexico kicked off the 2026 edition with a 2-0 victory, in a match that featured three red cards.
Korea Republic then got their World Cup campaign off to a winning start by beating Czechia 2-1 after finally converting some of the many chances they created.
Bosnia-Herzegovina go ahead in the 21st minute after Sead Kolasinac rises well from a corner and heads the ball into the six-yard box, with Jovo Lukic there to provide the flick-on:
Despite plenty of sustained pressure from hosts Canada, It's the visitors who lead at the break!
You won't see many better blocks than that from Sead Kolasinac! Bosnia-Herzegovina still just about holding onto that slender one-goal lead.
Substitute Cyle Larin comes off the bench to score the equaliser for Canada, and it has certainly been coming!
It finishes all square as co-hosts Canada earn their first ever point at a FIFA World Cup!
