Yodlekpet, Xavier Gonzalez Headline ONE Friday Fights 157 On June 5
June is here, and ONE Championship is getting the month off to a hard-hitting start.
The promotion gets things started with ONE Friday Fights 157, live from Bangkok’s historic Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, June 5. The card is loaded with nine Muay Thai and MMA bouts, and every athlete scheduled for action is hunting the same thing: a US$100,000 contract and a spot on ONE Championship's global roster.
A Champion With A Point To Prove
The main event is built around contrasting styles and shared hunger.
Four-time Muay Thai World Champion Yodlekpet Or Atchariya arrives as one of the most decorated fighters in the flyweight division. The man known as “The Destroyer” proudly owns multiple Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadium World Titles, and his low kicks are among the heaviest in the division.
Yodlekpet is riding a two-fight winning streak, capped by a bonus-winning third-round stoppage in his most recent outing, and he steps into Friday's main event with the momentum of a fighter who has rediscovered his best form.
Standing across from him is Saw Min Min, a 28-year-old Lethwei-based fighter whose path to this moment is unlike almost anyone else on the roster. He began in Lethwei at age 8, won the 2017 ONE Myanmar Flyweight MMA Tournament, and has since built a Muay Thai game sharp enough to threaten any World Champion. Upsets are his specialty, and this Friday, he is planning another one.
A Feisty Co-Main Event
Xavier Gonzalez is not your typical foreign fighter. The Spaniard did not come to Thailand for a gap year. He came to build a career, and he has done exactly that.
The 24-year-old is as embedded in the local Muay Thai scene as anyone on the roster, and his style shows it: relentless, physical, and built around the kind of volume punching and elbow work that wins fights at Lumpinee. He comes into Friday with something to prove after a recent setback, and that edge makes him dangerous.
PayakSurin JP Power is young, electric, and completely unbothered by pressure. The 21-year-old southpaw has been turning heads on ONE Friday Fights with performances that leave the crowd buzzing, and he is not slowing down.
With a contract firmly in his sights, he is the kind of opponent that could either bring out Gonzalez's best or expose his vulnerabilities. Either way, this co-main event will thrill from the opening bell to the last.
