The countdown is on for the return of LaLiga, with new faces arriving and old rivalries ready to ignite in the 2025/26 season! Set to kick off over the weekend of August 17, the 38-game LaLiga season is scheduled to conclude on the weekend of May 23-24.

One new face is Xabi Alonso, with the Spaniard returning to the Bernabeu to take the reins at Real Madrid following Carlo Ancelotti's departure. The Los Blancos - who will host Osasuna in their opening game - have also strengthened their squad with the additions of England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and promising defender Dean Huijsen, as they aim to wrest the title back from Barcelona.

Led by Hansi Flick, Barcelona will begin their title defence with three consecutive away games as renovations at the Spotify Camp Nou near completion - starting with an opening-day trip to Mallorca. 

One fixture fans will have firmly circled is ElClásico, with the first showdown set for October 26 at the Bernabeu, and the return leg scheduled for May 10 at the Spotify Camp Nou. 

The Madrid Derby between Real and Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid meanwhile, will first take place on Matchday 7 at the Metropolitano on September 28, with the return fixture at the Bernabeu scheduled for March 22. 

Returning to LaLiga for the first time since the 2000/01 season, Santi Cazorla’s Real Oviedo will kick off their campaign with an away trip to Villarreal. Fellow promoted sides Levante and Elche face Alaves (away) and Real Betis (home) respectively in their opening fixtures.
