Tete snubs Everton offer to stay at Fulham
Fulham have tied full-back Kenny Tete down to a new contract, after it initially appeared the Dutchman would join Everton.
Kenny Tete has penned a new deal with Fulham, ending speculation he could join another Premier League club.
Fulham confirmed on Monday that Tete, who was due to be out of contract, had penned fresh terms.
The full-back has signed a three-year deal, with the option for that to be extended by a further year.
It comes after widespread reports that Everton were set to sign the 29-year-old on a free transfer.
Tete told Fulham's website: "I'm really happy to have signed, for myself and for my family, and I hope I can give more for the fans in these three years.
"After my first year I knew this was a family club, a really special club where I can develop. I want to be part of this group and hopefully we can push for more."
Tete, who joined Fulham from Lyon in 2020, has featured in 89 Premier League games for the Cottagers, making 78 starts.
Despite making only 22 top-flight appearances last season, Tete attempted 56 and won 38 tackles, ranking second in Fulham's squad among defenders for both metrics, behind only Antonee Robinson (95 and 61).
Fulham finished 11th in the Premier League last season.
