David De Gea Denies All Involvement In Sex Scandal
David de Gea has strongly denied involvement in a sex scandal, while insisting that he will stay with the Spain team at Euro 2016.
David de Gea has strongly denied involvement in a sex scandal story that emerged today, and insisted he will stay with Spain at Euro 2016.
The accusations were published by El Diario on Friday, stating that De Gea and Iker Muniain of Athletic Bilbao, were involved.
De Gea is not accused of being present at the scene, but was apparently key in organising the events.
The Manchester United goalkeeper however, has been defiant in his denial of the story.
"I am the first to be surprised by this story, it is complete lies and falsehoods," he responded in a press conference.
"This gives me more strength to be with this team, it is now in my lawyers' hands."
De Gea stated he called his family immediately upon hearing the story, with the intention of issuing calm.
“I was in my room when I heard news. Above all I wanted to tell my family, so they know this is all false, and they can be relaxed.”
Reports had emerged that De Gea had been booted out of the Spanish camp, a story that was quickly put down as false. The goalkeeper himself, stated he would continue in France.
"I am going to stay with the national team, I have the strength and my team-mates' support and I want to fight for the Euros," he declared.
Spain begin their Euro 2016 campaign on Monday, against the Czech Republic.
