Antoine Griezmann Named Euro 2016's Best Player
Antoine Griezmann's six-goal haul at Euro 2016 has seen him named Player of the Tournament by UEFA.
France forward Antoine Griezmann has won the award for Euro 2016 Player of the Tournament, UEFA has announced.
After a slow start in the group stage, the Les Bleus' No. 7 closed out the competition with six goals to his name and almost singlehandedly guided his team to wins over the Republic of Ireland and Germany in the knockout stage.
However, not everyone agreed with the diminutive Atletico Madrid man's selection.
Former Newcastle United and England international Alan Shearer criticized the 25-year-old for his misfiring in the final, while fellow Frenchman Frank Leboeuf reckons Pepe or Gareth Bale would have been more worthy recipients of the award.
