Sports Burst – Smells Like Team Spirit
Sergio Ramos is not a fan of individualism, while celebration/mourning has begun in London over Wenger's new deal.

1) No ‘I’ in team for Sergio Ramos
The Champions League continues to hang over the world like a giant spaceship of the Independence Day variety. The first one. Not the sequel monstrosity.
The league seasons in Europe are all but over, but an almost impossible-to-read clash between Real Madrid and Juventus that promises to be a doozy and not a sofa-snoozer like the previous Madrid derby versions is dominating the headlines.
The drip-drip of interviews and clips continues to leak out and the latest is Sergio Ramos who took a huge swing at Cristiano Ronaldo by suggesting that the Real Madrid man is an egotistical monster, only interested in self-promotion and the glory of his own name. Well. Not really. Instead, Sergio Ramos did say that the Ballon d’Or was of no interest to him, which is quite handy considering the Real Madrid defender is still to learn the art of…well…defending.

2) Arsenal confirm two more years for Wenger
Wednesday brought the official news floated on Tuesday that Arsenal fans and Piers Morgan had been holding on to with bated breath – two more years of Arsene Wenger. Vigils outside the Frenchman’s house, floral tributes and even human sacrifices offered to the icon of Arsenal were enough to sway the opinion of the clearly reluctant Wenger to at least 24 more months of false hope and general underachieving mediocrity.
The Arsenal coach is now expected to spend over $100m in the transfer market on teenage French players that will never quite cut the mustard and flimsy forwards. (Handed note by bosses) Look out for an exclusive interview with Wenger this weekend only on beIN SPORTS! Er, Awkward.
In news of a less entertaining variety, poor Santi Cazorla has admitted that he may not return to action until the end of the year, having suffered dreadful injury problems with an ankle. “You feel like throwing in the towel but my desire to play football is above everything,” admitted the Spanish midfielder to ‘Cadena Ser’.
3) Benfica admit transfer rumor is true
TRANSFER TRACKER! Here we go! Benfica have helped everyone out that a story linking Brazilian goalkeeper, Ederson, to Manchester City is true. Manchester City and young Turkey striker, Unal, is set for a move to Villarreal for around $20m.
Roma midfielder, Daniele De Rossi, has signed a new deal with the Serie A club until 2019 whilst Milan’s busy transfer moves continue with the potential purchase of Lazio midfielder and captain, Lucas Biglia, for around $20m.

4) Kvitova’s incredible comeback ends at French Open
Time for a bit of tennis news and a still remarkable comeback Petra Kvitova at the French Open has come to an end with a second-round defeat to American doubles world-beater, Bethanie Mattek-Sands. Just seven months ago, the two-times Wimbledon winner suffered terrible hand injuries after a knife attack and had only started practicing in May.
