Don't Expect Too Much Business In LaLiga On Transfer Deadline Day
While the Premier League splashes the cash, in Spain they'll be keeping the purse strings tight.

Don’t expect much action at Barcelona and Real Madrid. The former have sorted all their loose ends out, and barring a last minute loan away for Rafinha they are set up for the season. Los Blancos meanwhile will no doubt have interest in James Rodriguez and Isco, but either leaving looks unlikely with Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Perez insisting the squad is well balanced. Spurs and Malaga are linked with Isco but a deal for him would be a surprise given Zidane still feels the player can contribute - and the player himself isn't exactly sprinting out the door.
There doesn’t seem any chance of change at Atletico Madrid too. They did their business early and despite a tough start to the season will stick with what they have. That means rumours of a move for Hakan Çalhanoğlu can be put to bed. A late bid for Thomas Lemar of Monaco has sprung up too, but the French side simply don't want to sell this late. Will Atleti revisit this one next summer though? Exits could still happen, with the club desperate to find Alessia Cerci a new home.
Valencia will probably be the biggest movers and shakers. Expect a complete change at the heart of their back four. Eliaquim Mangala and Ezequiel Garay are as good as signed, and will be a big upgrade in defense. Aymen Abdennour could follow Mustafi to the Premier League, with Chelsea a suggested destination for the Moroccan who has simply not settled at the club.
Elsewhere don’t rule out a move for winger Gonçalo Guedes who could provide some much needed attacking spice after losing Paco Alcacer.
Over at Sevilla they had one target - Samir Nasri - and they've got their man. He’s already through the door to replace Yevhen Konoplyanka who has been loaned to Schalke. Transfer guru Monchi is always sniffing out deals however, so don’t rule out a surprise move before the deadline. Gary Medel return, anyone?
Villarreal could still make moves too, with Álvaro González from Espanyol a top target. Their squad has been injury hit in several areas so they could do with reinforcements all across the pitch.
A move for the exciting winger Álex Berenguer was rumoured for Athletic but bad relations with Osasuna have killed that one. It would be a surprise to see any move reignited.
Lucas Perez leaving was a huge blow for Deportivo La Coruna and a striker was top priority. They could well have their man as Álvaro Vázquez is set to sign. His goal record isn’t convincing however, and Florian Andone will need to take on much of the work in attack.
Espanyol, like Valencia, could be extremely busy. Álvaro González and Ruben Duarte are both set to leave, while new faces in defence and attack are expected. At the back Mexican star Diego Reyes is basically signed and sealed. A shock move could be for Alvaro Arbeloa, with Espanyol very much building a team based around experienced players.
In attack Felipe Caicedo could leave so that would mean the club need two new strikers at least. Allan Nyom, who worked with Quique Sanchez Flores at Watford, was set to move in but cancelled his medical at the last minute.
