2016 Florida Atlantic Football Team Preview | #BeAnFAUOwl

Sixteen true freshman return to bolster Owls conference prospects.

The Owls come into the season full of optimism with many of last season’s starters returning. FAU had a 3-9 record in 2015, with all of their wins coming within Conference USA while starting a nation leading 16 true freshman.

Players to Watch

Their defense looks to make significant strides this season under the leadership of All Conference USA Senior DE Trey Hendrickson. Hendrickson ended the 2015 season as FAU’s all-time single season sack leader (13.5) and career sacks leader (20).

The offense is led by Junior OL Reggie Bain who followed up his Freshman All-America honors in 2014 by being named second team All-Conference USA last season.

Heading in to his 3rd season at the helm head coach Charlie Partridge is hoping to have the Owls in contention for the Conference USA title but they will need a few wins against some tough out-of-conference opponents such as Kansas State, Ball State, Southern Illinois, and in-state rivals University of Miami.
