Stina Nilsson secures maiden Olympic title in women's sprint classic
Nilsson edges out defending champion Maiken Caspersen to win gold
Sweden's Stina Nilsson claimed her first Olympic title when the won the women's sprint classic cross-country race at the Pyeongchang Winter Games on Tuesday.
Nilsson, a cross-country bronze medallist from Sochi 2014, completed the course in 3min 3.84sec, 3.03sec ahead of defending champion Maiken Norway y.
Yulia Belorukova grabbed bronze for the neutral Olympic Athletes of Russia. Russia has been suspended from the Olympics because of a doping scandal.
