Dutch skater wins the 1,000m event with a new Olympic record time
Jorien Ter Mors continued Dutch domination in speed skating at the 2018 Winter Olympics by claiming gold in the women's 1,000m event on Wednesday evening.
Ter Mors won the race with a new Olympic record time of 1:13.56. Whilst the Japanese pair of Nao Kodaira and Miho Takagi claimed silver and bronze.
The victory for the 28-year-old was the fifth gold medal for the Netherlands from the speed skating rink so far from the w2018 Pyeongchang games.
