Ferrer and Lopez set for all-Spanish final in Kuala Lumpur
The Malaysian Open will play host to an all-Spanish final between David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez on Sunday.
Top seed David Ferrer came from a set down against Benjamin Becker to book an all-Spanish Malaysian Open final with Feliciano Lopez.
Becker, conqueror of fourth seed Grigor Dimitrov in the last eight, was on course to record another shock in Kuala Lumpur when he took the first set 6-3 with two late breaks.
However, the class of world number eight Ferrer eventually told, as he ran out a 3-6 6-2 6-4 victor.
Ferrer set his stall out early in the second set by breaking Becker in the very first game, before consolidating with a further break in the fifth as he levelled the match with ease.
And the 33-year-old did not look back, sealing another crucial break in the fifth game of the decider before holding his serve - and nerve - to seal his spot in Sunday's final.
Awaiting Ferrer is his compatriot Lopez, who edged Nick Kyrgios in two tie-breaks 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (7-5).
Kyrgios overcame Ivo Karlovic in two tie-breaks in his quarter-final, but failed to repeat the trick 24 hours later as Lopez booked his second Tour final of the season.
