Argentine striker Higuain to leave Napoli for Juventus
Serie A top scorer Gonzalo Higuain is set to leave Napoli and join Italian champions Juventus for a 94-million-euro (103-million-dollar) deal, media reports said Saturday.
Medical tests on the player on behalf of the Turin club have already been performed in secret in Madrid on Friday, Gianluca Di Marzio, a reporter for Sky Sport Italia, wrote on his website.
According to Di Marzio, Juventus has offered an annual salary of 7.5 million euros to the Argentine striker, rising to 10 million euros considering publicity rights.
The deal is set to be made official later Saturday or Sunday, the journalist added.
Separately, the Corriere della Sera newspaper wrote that Higuain signed a rental agreement Friday for a luxury apartment in Turin - a further indication that his move to Juventus was imminent.
"We are really one step away from this sensational transfer," Francesco Rocchi of RAI state television commented.
Higuain was the top scorer in last year's Serie A, with 36 goals.
