'Proud' McCaw hints at playing on after World Cup win
Proud New Zealand captain Richie McCaw suggested he may prolong his international career after leading his nation to glory in the World Cup.
After leading New Zealand to a second successive World Cup final victory, Richie McCaw hinted that he may continue his All Blacks career.
McCaw's side made history at Twickenham on Saturday, defeating Australia 34-17 to become the first side to successfully defend the Webb Ellis trophy, as well as an unprecedented third World Cup triumph.
Leading 21-3 early in the second half, it looked as though the All Blacks would cruise to victory but Australia capitalised on Ben Smith's yellow card as tries from David Pocock and Tevita Kuridrani brought them back to within four points.
But New Zealand pulled away again in the closing stages and McCaw - who has been widely tipped retire after the tournament - suggested he could defy those expectations.
"I still don't want it to be the end," he told ITV Sport. "At the moment I'm still part of this team, I'll worry about that after today.
"I'm just so proud of being able to wear this jersey again today and I can never have enough of it.
"If you get moments like this why would you ever call it a day?"
