Arsenal sign Uruguay international Torreira
Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira will play in the Premier League in the 2018-19 season after completing his move to Arsenal from Sampdoria.
Arsenal have completed the signing of Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, the Serie A side has confirmed. Torreira 22, play a part in all five of Uruguay's games at the World Cup in Russia.
Speaking of the signing, new Arsenal boss Unai Emery said "In Lucas Torreira we have signed a young player who is a very bright talent in the game. A midfielder with great quality."
Emery has wasted little time in the transfer market since succeeding Arsene Wenger at the end of the season. The capture of Torreira is the fourth signing of the window for Arsenal, which includes goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, defender Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus and Greek international defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund.
