Panthers edge past Red Wings in OT
The Detroit Red Wings gave up a lead as the Florida Panthers battled to a hard-fought win in the NHL on Sunday.
Brian Campbell scored an overtime winner as the Florida Panthers edged the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 in the NHL.
Campbell struck one minute, 20 seconds into the extra period as the Panthers rallied for their win at Joe Louis Arena.
Dylan Larkin had given the Red Wings the lead in the second period, but Reilly Smith tied the game with just over five minutes remaining.
Roberto Luongo made 28 saves for the Panthers, while Petr Mrazek stopped 30 shots.
The Red Wings are third in the Atlantic Division and the Panthers' second straight win sees them sixth in the standings.
