Fitzpatrick targeting PGA Tour card after Dubai win
After a third European Tour win in the the World Tour Championship, Dubai, Matt Fitzpatrick is aiming for a spot on the PGA Tour card.
Matt Fitzpatrick is targeting a card on the PGA Tour after winning the World Tour Championship in Dubai last week.
That triumph followed previous successes at the 2015 British Masters and the Nordea Masters in June, making him the youngest English three-time European Tour winner.
And, after earning a five-year exemption on the European Tour, Fitzpatrick is now aiming to continue his fine form on the PGA Tour.
"I think [the win in Dubai] is the biggest victory of my career so far," Fitzpatrick told Sky Sports. "It gives me plenty of confidence now to push on for next year.
"I've got a five-year exemption on the European Tour, so for at least three of the five I'm going to be pushing hard to try and get that PGA Tour card.
"Hopefully I'll give myself a good chance and eventually be able to play on both Tours."
Fitzpatrick, who was a member of Europe's Ryder Cup team at Hazeltine, was one stroke clear of Tyrrell Hatton to claim victory in Dubai.
