Spurs' Leonard ruled out of game two against Warriors
Jonathon Simmons will draw the start in place of injured San Antonio Spurs team-mate Kawhi Leonard in the NBA playoffs on Tuesday.
Kawhi Leonard will miss Tuesday's game two of the Western Conference finals against the Golden State Warriors due to an ankle injury.
NBA MVP candidate Leonard was forced from the court in the third quarter of San Antonio's 113-111 game-one loss to the Warriors on Sunday and the Spurs are uncertain whether his ankle will be healed enough to play game three.
Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich told reporters pre-game that Leonard is "questionable" ahead of Saturday.
"We won't know until Friday or Saturday," he said.
Jonathon Simmons will draw the start in place of Leonard in game two.
Simmons filled in admirably in game six of the Western Conference semi-finals against the Houston Rockets and was his replacement when Leonard twisted his ankle for a second time midway through the third quarter on Sunday.
Many have called the foul by Warriors centre Zaza Pachulia "dirty" because he stuck his foot into Leonard's space following his jump shot. Popovich was among them.
