Oakley ejected, arrested after shoving security guard at Knicks game
Charles Oakley, 53, shoved security guards while in attendance in New York on Wednesday.
New York Knicks great Charles Oakley was ejected and arrested from Madison Square Garden after a bizarre altercation with a group of security guards on Wednesday.
In the incident caught on camera during the nationally televised NBA game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Oakley was seen shoving one security guard twice before getting escorted out of the building by an entire group.
The altercation reportedly started when 1994 All-Star Oakley confronted Knicks owner James Dolan.
In a statement, the Knicks confirmed Oakley, 53, had been arrested.
"Charles Oakley came into the game tonight and behaved in a highly inappropriate and completely abusive manner," the team said.
"He has been ejected and is currently being arrested by the NYC Police Department. He was a great Knick and we hope he gets some help soon."
Oakley spent 10 years with the Knicks, having arrived from the Chicago Bulls in 1988.
