Maverick Vinales and Jorge Lorenzo prepared for the Spanish Grand Prix by posting identical lap times in Sunday's warm-up.

Movistar Yamaha's Vinales - second in the MotoGP standings - was placed top of the timesheets based on his second-fastest lap, after he and Ducati rival Lorenzo both completed the circuit in one minute, 39.433 seconds.

Vinales starts from fourth as he looks to bounce back after crashing out in the United States, while Lorenzo starts eighth.

Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa sits on pole after edging team-mate Marc Marquez in qualifying.

Championship leader Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha) is seventh on the grid for Sunday's race.
