Las Palmas cruise to victory over 10-man Valencia
Las Palmas retained their unbeaten home record beating Valencia 3-1 on Monday in the Spanish first division.
Valencia took the lead on 21 minutes when Santi Mina converted Jose Gaya's pass.
But Las Palmas equalized three minutes before half time when Jonathan Viera scored from the edge of the box.
Valencia made life more difficult for themselves when they had Munir El Haddadi sent off.
The former Barcelona forward was yellow carded for a foul on Dani Castellano on 48 minutes.
And when he flew into another late challenge three minutes later he was shown a second yellow and sent off.
Las Palmas took the lead on 57 minutes when Mauricio Lemos scored from the edge of the area with a spectacular free-kick.
Kevin Prince Boateng added a third on 61 minutes, after being gifted time and space in the penalty area by on-loan Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala who had completely missed his header.
This could be a good week for Las Palmas supporters with the loan signing of Paris Saint Germain forward Jese Rodriguez expected to be
confirmed on Tuesday.
Club president, Miguel Ramirez said on Monday: "Our objective was to bring Jese and it has been possible. The operation is almost
completely finalized."
Valencia defender Ezequiel Garay lamented: "When we had eleven men we were in the game but they scored a great goal and then with the
sending-off it became very difficult."
Lemos said of his first goal of the season: "I'm very happy but the goal is just a detail in the game. The supporters are demanding a lot
from us but we have to go one game at a time."
