Betis battle out 2-2 draw against lowly Granada
Real Betis did well to fight out a 2-2 draw at home to southern rivals Granada on Friday in a compelling Spanish Liga contest.
Granada stormed into an early 2-0 lead on goals from Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez and Alberto Bueno, only for Betis to bounce back
thanks to a handsome brace from the promising Alexander Alegria.
Despite the sending-off of defender Ruben Vezo, Granada went all out for their first win and were given a disputed penalty 11 minutes from
time - only for Ezequiel Ponce to have his weak spot-kick saved by Betis keeper Antonio Adan.
The draw left Betis in 10th place with five points from four games and struggling Granada 17th with just two points.
Saturday will see defending champions Barcelona at newcomers Leganes, then Atletico Madrid will host Sporting Gijon.
