Chicharito, Rafa Marquez return to Europe
The veterans are headed back to their clubs after helping Mexico to victory in the CONCACAF Cup.
Mexico has achieved its goal for this international break, but the work isn't done.
El Tri still have a friendly against Panama to contend with after seeing off the United States in a 3-2 extra time win in the CONCACAF Cup on Saturday. Interim manager Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti will shave his trademark mustache in celebration but will be without more than just facial hair when he oversees his side against the Caneleros.
Bayer Leverkusen forward Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Hellas Verona center back Rafa Marquez are headed back to Europe to join up with their clubs.
"Players Javier Hernandez and Rafael Marquez left the Mexican team today because of a mutual agreement with their respective clubs," a FMF statement read. "Hernandez [leaves] to attend to personal matters and Marquez to continue his rehabilitation with his club's medical staff."
The remaining Mexico squad will have a training session Monday.
