Parker sees 'big possibility' of facing Joshua-Klitschko winner
A heavyweight unification clash with either Anthony Joshua or Wladimir Klitschko is in WBO belt holder Joseph Parker's thoughts.
WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker believes there is a "big possibility" he will face the victor of next Saturday's bout between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko.
Joshua (18-0) will defend his IBF belt for the third time against Klitschko (64-4) at Wembley Stadium, with the vacant WBA title also on the line.
Asked about facing the winner of that fight, Parker told Sky Sports: "Yes, that's a big possibility.
"It's a fight that can happen in the future and you never know, but firstly you have got to take care of business."
Before such a prospective bout, however, Parker (22-0) faces Hughie Fury in a title match in Auckland on May 6.
While he acknowledges defeating Fury – the cousin of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury – is his primary objective, the possibility of a future unification fight is in Parker's thoughts.
"Firstly, it hopefully goes well with Fury, and then big doors open after that," Parker said.
"I can't look too far ahead, because there is a big task in front of us, but there is also in the back of your mind, thinking about the bigger things that can happen."
Parker has also been linked with taking on Deontay Wilder in order to unify the WBC and WBO belts.
