Carroll's MRI shows no structural damage
Atlanta Hawks forward DeMarre Carroll has been cleared of any structural damage to his left knee and could play on the Cavs on Friday.
The Atlanta Hawks received some good news on Thursday, after an X-Ray and MRI showed forward DeMarre Carroll suffered a sprained left knee against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Atlanta fans held their breath when Carroll landed awkwardly on his left foot in the final quarter of Wednesday's 97-89 loss to the Cavaliers in game one of their Eastern Conference final.
But Carroll was given the all clear following scans, with the 28-year-old now listed as questionable for game two in Atlanta on Friday.
"We'll see how things go the next 24 hours," said Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said.
"We'll make a decision that's in DeMarre's short-term and long-term best interests, listen to the doctors, listen to DeMarre, make decisions."
Carroll is averaging 16.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in the play-offs this season.
