Harrison breaks through for maiden title in Memphis
It was a landmark day for Ryan Harrison, who won his first ATP Tour title after easing past Nikoloz Basilashvili in the Memphis Open final.
Ryan Harrison claimed his maiden ATP Tour title with a straight-sets victory over Nikoloz Basilashvili in the Memphis Open on Sunday.
Competing in his first senior final, the American saw off Basilashvili 6-1 6-4 at the ATP 250 event.
Harrison had gone winless in his seven previous semi-finals, but that all changed against Donald Young on Saturday.
And the 24-year-old continued his red-hot form against Basilashvili in Memphis.
Harrison fired down nine aces and showed impressive defensive skills as he fended off all 12 break points faced, while converting three of his own on the Georgian's serve after one hour, 17 minutes on court.
