World number-22 Gavrilova became the last Australian left in the season's first major at Melbourne, eventually losing her fourth round match against world number-5 Karolína Plíšková in straight sets.
The 22 year-old joins a strong field in Russia, including Australian Open runner-up Venus Williams and top 10 players Simona Halep, Dominika Cibulkova and Svetlana Kuznetsova.
