Tevez mobbed by fans at Shanghai airport
Former Juventus and Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez touched down in Shanghai to a heroes welcome, after Shanghai Shenhua made the Argentine the world's highest paid footballer.
The 32 year-old will earn a staggering $1 million a week over two-years, and fans gave their new prized asset a heroes welcome at Shanghai airport.
Tevez could only smile and wave in disbelief as fans stormed the Argentine and followed him out of the airport.
Tevez's signing is another statement of intent from the Chinese Super League as it drops serious cash to attract some of the biggest names in world football.
Any doubts Tevez had about football's supporter base in China was surely squashed after touching down.
A recent directive from the Chinese Football Association has demanded that CSL teams feature no more than three foreign players at any given time in matches, but Tevez is sure to feature.
Obafemi Martins, Fredy Guarin and Demba Ba are among the other foreign stars available to Shenhua coach Gus Poyet.
