Nice's loses Cyprien for season
With scans confirming an anterior cruciate ligament injury for Wylan Cyprien, the midfielder will miss the rest of the Ligue 1 season for title challenger Nice.
Nice midfielder Wylan Cyprien will miss the rest of the Ligue 1 season after sustaining a serious knee injury.
The 22-year-old was withdrawn in the 57th minute of his side's 2-2 draw with Caen on Saturday (AEDT) after a heavy challenge.
Nice, which is second in Ligue 1, has now confirmed that scans showed Cyprien has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.
Cyprien is now set to undergo surgery, with Nice stating only that he will miss the remainder of the campaign.
The ex-Lens man has been a key performer for Nice in its surprise title challenge as it lies second in the table, five points behind leader Monaco and ahead of third-placed Paris Saint-Germain playing Lorient on Monday (AEDT).
