Group winner Arsenal handed Bayern tie
The draw for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League has taken place, with Arsenal handed a tough task against Bayern Munich.
Arsenal has been drawn to face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League last 16, which was conducted on Monday night (AEDT) in Nyon.
Having won its group, the Gunners — which have a long history of losing last 16 ties — had been hopeful of an easier draw than has been the case in past seasons, but Real Madrid and Bayern loomed large as surprise group stage runners-up.
In other matches, Ligue 1 champion Paris Saint-Germain faces a tough test against Barcelona. PSG could have been handed a much easier task had it beaten Ludogorets in its last group match, but could only draw, therefore finishing runner-up in the group.
Real Madrid, the current UEFA Champions League holder, plays Italian giant Napoli, while newcomer Leicester City takes on Sevilla, the reigning UEFA Europa League champion.
The first-leg ties will be played on 14-15 February (AEDT), with the second legs to be played on 22-23 February (AEDT):
