It's finally race week as Formula 1 returns to the iconic Imola this weekend for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, taking place from May 16 to 18! The race marks the start of a European triple-header, with Monaco and the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona to follow.

With McLaren holding a dominant lead in the constructors' championship, teams like Mercedes and Ferrari are expected to bring upgrades to Imola, aiming to close the gap on the runaway leaders. After claiming his third consecutive win in Miami, Oscar Piastri extended his lead over McLaren teammate Lando Norris to 16 points in the drivers' standings, while holding a 32-point advantage over third-placed Max Verstappen of Red Bull.

It will be a home race of sorts for Ferrari, as the Maranello-based team look to capitalise on their home advantage and secure a strong result. Meanwhile, in the Alpine camp, there is a driver change as Franco Colapinto replaces Jack Doohan, with the Argentine set to race for his new team for the first time.
