England swatted aside Czechia 3-0 as Harry Kane played a starring role on his landmark appearance.
England 3-0 Czechia: Kane doubles up on record-equalling appearance
Harry Kane marked his record-equalling appearance by being involved in all of England's goals in a 3-0 Nations League defeat of Czechia.
Kane played his 125th game for the Three Lions on Tuesday, matching Peter Shilton as England's joint-most-capped player.
And Kane marked the occasion in style, playing a role in all of England's goals in a routine Nations League triumph at Wembley Stadium.
England made a dominant start, though they were not rewarded for their efforts until the 27th minute, when Kane swung in a cross, aiming for Eberechi Eze.
Eze stalled his run, but Vladimir Coufal was unaware and, under no pressure, the former West Ham defender slid in and diverted the ball into the back of Czechia's net.
England doubled their lead in sumptuous style 13 minutes later. Elliot Anderson swept a sublime pass over the top for Morgan Rogers, who cushioned a wonderful first-time pass into Kane's path, and the Three Lions captain made no mistake with his finish.
Kane struck the top of the crossbar with a swerving strike at the end of a slick move shortly after half-time, but he helped himself to his second when he headed home unchallenged from Lewis Hall's corner.
Thomas Tuchel took the chance to hand some of his fringe players a chance late on, including Rio Ngumoha, who became the second-youngest player to feature for England at Wembley (18 years, 38 days), behind Jude Bellingham (17 years, 136 days).
Czechia offered little threat, bar a stinging long-range drive from Roman Macek, as England eased onto nine points in Nations League Group A3, three behind leaders Spain.
Another special Wembley showing for Kane
Kane will have to wait until at least November for his record-breaking England cap, but he was always likely to have a say on the day he equalled Shilton.
The 33-year-old has now scored 2+ goals in six different matches for England at Wembley, now the outright most of any player, overtaking Alan Shearer (five).
He has also netted at least twice in 18 different games for the Three Lions, which is another record, while Kane is the oldest player in England's history to score a brace in consecutive appearances (33 years, 70 days tonight).
Kane's 13 goals in 2026 are now the second most any England player has scored in a single calendar year, behind the 16 he netted in 2021.
That goal tally is also the most among any European player in 2026, with Kane now ahead of France's Kylian Mbappe (12).
It was about as comfortable as you can get for England, who created chances worth 1.83 expected goals but allowed Czechia to have just five shots, which were worth a combined 0.17 xG.
England will need just a point from their last two games to join Spain in qualifying for the quarter-finals, while Czechia have lost five matches on the bounce.
