Oliver Glasner remains confident his Crystal Palace team will create enough chances to win their second leg against Larnaca and reach the Conference League quarter-finals. 

The second leg at AEK Arena is finely poised following a goalless draw last Thursday, though Palace had more than enough chances to at least score one goal on home soil. 

Palace ended the match at Selhurst Park with an expected goals (xG) total of 1.98 from their 13 shots, compared to Larnaca's measly tally of 0.23 from their two attempts. 

Larnaca have kept a clean sheet in both games against Palace in the Conference League this season. The Eagles have a combined xG total of 3.74 and have attempted 28 shots without scoring across the two meetings.

And they come against a side who have conceded just once throughout their entire Conference League campaign, and Glasner acknowledged the challenge that awaits. 

"Our mindset is to win the game. We have huge respect for AEK Larnaca. All the teams in the UEFA Conference League have struggled to score against them," Glasner said. 

"They're doing really well, with all their experience. They defended crosses and balls into the box really well last week.

"We might need to create six or seven big chances, rather than four or five. But we can do this.

"It's about having a good balance, but we have the confidence we can score and create chances."

After their 0-0 draw in the first leg, Larnaca will be aiming to become the first Cypriot side ever to eliminate an English team in a knockout stage tie in major European competition.

Palace will also be just the second English side to face Larnaca in Cyprus, after West Ham, who won 2-0 there at this stage of the Conference League in 2022-23.

And Glasner will be hoping that Yeremy Pino can rediscover his goal-scoring touch, having failed to record a goal involvement in all competitions since January 17. 

No Palace player has more goal involvements than Pino (three – one goal, two assists) in the Conference League this term. He also leads the team for chances created (15).

"He [Pino] has still played minutes. More minutes, for example, than Daichi Kamada," Glasner said of Pino's recent form. 

"He has a different profile and has recently had a little bit of a lack of confidence. But he is trying very hard. He wants to show up and prove how good he is.

"I have told him 'relax'. Because in training we see what a great player he is and what a great finish he has. I'm very sure we will need him by the end of the season."
