Gabri Veiga was the star of the show as Porto thumped Napoli 4-1 in the Champions League.
Porto 4-1 Napoli: Veiga shines as more pressure piles on Allegri
Massimiliano Allegri's time at Napoli could be coming to an end after a heavy defeat against Porto in the Champions League.
The Spaniard assisted Jan Bednarek's opener before scoring after Scott McTominay's equaliser, while Jakub Kiwior and Samu Aghehowa ensured victory for Francesco Farioli's side at Estadio Do Dragao.
Pepe saw a goal disallowed inside the opening five minutes for Porto as he mistimed his run before crashing in off the woodwork, but the hosts went ahead in the 11th minute as Bednarek headed in from Veiga's corner.
Napoli also saw a goal ruled out in the first half, with Kevin De Bruyne straying beyond the last defender before scoring, though the Partenopei levelled two minutes before the break as McTominay fired in on the rebound after Diogo Costa produced an incredible save to deny Rasmus Hojlund.
Porto made a strong start to the second half and almost restored their lead, but Alex Meret reacted well after Matteo Politano's clearance ricocheted off Pablo Rosario and towards the goal.
They then hit the woodwork twice, first through Bednarek from another corner and then through Veiga, but the latter deservedly scored in the 71st minute, coolly slotting past the goalkeeper from Santiago Gimenez's pass.
Kiwior added to Porto's lead, heading in from Hwang In-beom's corner, and Samu wrapped up the win from the penalty spot in the 90th minute after also winning the spot-kick, with Rafa Marin sent off for the last-man challenge.
Veiga leaves Allegri and Napoli in more trouble
Porto's victory was their 60th at home in the Champions League, surpassing Paris Saint-Germain (59) for home victories, with only seven clubs having won more such matches in the competition than them.
And much of the credit must go to Veiga, who led the way in shots (four), chances created (three – level with De Bruyne), successful dribbles (two), duels won (eight – level with Bednarek), and possessions won (seven).
Veiga has now been involved in 12 goals in 14 appearances this season across the Primeira Liga and the Champions League combined, netting seven goals and providing five assists.
Napoli, meanwhile, have lost five of their last seven group-stage/league-phase matches in the Champions League, as many defeats as they suffered at this stage of the competition across their previous 23 combined.
They produced just 1.42 expected goals (xG) from 11 shots to Porto's 2.71 from 19 attempts, and after their loss to Juventus on Sunday, time could well be running out for Allegri to turn their poor start around.
They have just three points from their four Champions League games this season and could be heading for another league-phase exit.
