Juventus 2-0 Udinese: Yildiz stars for Champions League chasers
Juventus' hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season will go down to the final day after victory over Udinese on Sunday.
Kenan Yildiz grabbed two assists to lead Juventus to a 2-0 victory over Udinese at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday to edge closer to a Champions League spot next season.
Yildiz took his Serie A goal contribution tally to 10 (six goals, four assists) with his display, with Juve knowing a win over Venezia on the final day will seal a top-four finish.
Igor Tudor's team produced a dominant showing in the first half, registering 16 shots to Udinese's three, but were unable to find a way past visiting goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
Randal Kolo Muani had the hosts' best opportunity, seeing his chipped effort repelled by Okoye before Nicolas Gonzalez's shot from distance was pushed onto the post.
But Juventus made their pressure pay in the 61st minute when Gonzalez rifled the ball into the left corner after Oumar Solet was dispossessed in his own box.
The hosts continued to threaten but were unable to create any clear-cut openings until two minutes from time through top scorer Dusan Vlahovic.
Yildiz led a lightning break from an Udinese attack, playing Vlahovic into the box before the Serbian collected the ball and picked out the bottom-right corner with a fine finish.
Fourth-placed Juventus moved up to 67 points, one ahead of Roma, who beat AC Milan 3-1, with Lazio a point further adrift after they held Inter to a 2-2 draw.
Data Debrief: Tudor finds home comforts with Juventus
Juventus have won eight of their last nine home games in Serie A (L1), after collecting just two wins in their previous nine (D7), with that upturn in form down to Tudor.
Indeed, Juventus have won each of their four Serie A home games under Tudor. In the last 50 years, only Massimiliano Allegri in 2014 and Maurizio Sarri in 2019 have won each of their first four matches on home soil in the competition with the club.
But their victory was led by Yildiz's stunning performance, with the 20-year-old the youngest player in Serie A this season to register 10 goal involvements.
Yildiz also ended the contest with team-high totals for touches in the opposition box (10), chances created (six) and successful dribbles (three).
