Ibrahim Sangare has signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest through to 2029.

He joined from PSV in September 2023, putting pen to paper on a five-year deal, but his new contract ensures he will stay at the City Ground for an extra year.

Sangare, who represented Ivory Coast at the World Cup this summer, has made 77 appearances for Forest in all competitions, netting two goals, both of which came in the Premier League last season.

"I'm delighted to sign the new contract," he said.

"It's a good moment too for me to thank the fans. Last season wasn't always easy, but they were always with us, and I have always felt their support.

"It's been three years here, and it has become a family for me in that time. I feel good; I have learned a lot and worked hard to get to this point.

"I'm really looking forward to working with the new coach and for the season to start."

Sangare made 43 appearances for Forest in all competitions last term, playing a key role in helping them avoid relegation and reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.

He made the third-most tackles (85) among Forest players, winning 43 of those, while he also ranked third for possession won (185).
