Everton said goodbye to Goodison Park with a 2-0 victory over Southampton thanks to Iliman Ndiaye's first-half double.

For Everton, Sunday’s contest was all about saying goodbye to their grand old stadium, which has been their home since 1892.

And it was Ndiaye, in his first season at the club, who ensured they bowed out with a victory over the Premier League's bottom club.

He opened the scoring in the sixth minute, slotting home at the end of a mazy run.

Ndiaye then doubled his tally on the stroke of half-time, beating Aaron Ramsdale to Dwight McNeil's pass and tapping into an empty net.

Everton, who also saw Beto have two goals disallowed, pushed for a final moment of magic at the Gwladys Street End, but Ndiaye will go down as their last goalscorer at the stadium, while Jordan Pickford made a fantastic save to prevent Cameron Archer setting up a nervy finish.
