Danso makes permanent Spurs move as Forster, Werner and Reguilon exit
Ange Postecoglou will need various improvements for Tottenham's squad in 2025-26, and the club have released their first transfer update.
Tottenham have confirmed the exits of Fraser Forster and Sergio Reguilon, while Kevin Danso has joined the club from Lens on a permanent deal.
The Europa League champions announced a host of transfer updates on Saturday, with Timo Werner also returning to RB Leipzig after the conclusion of his season-long loan deal.
Experienced goalkeeper Forster joined from Southampton in 2022 but will leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the expiration of his contract.
Former Celtic man Forster only made 34 appearances in Tottenham colours, while Reguilon departs after his contract ended following a similarly uneventful spell in north London.
The Spain full-back appeared 73 times for Spurs, scoring twice, but spent much of his time out on loan at Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Brentford.
Germany forward Werner returned to Tottenham for the 2024-25 campaign, having spent the previous season on loan for six months, but will return to his Bundesliga side in Leipzig.
Werner managed just three goals in 41 appearances for Ange Postecoglou's team.
"We thank Fraser, Sergio, Alfie and Timo for their service and wish them well for the future," a short club statement read.
Danso comes the other way as he moves to Tottenham after his loan deal from Lens was made permanent.
The centre-back's transfer is reportedly worth up to £21million after Postecoglou's side obligation to buy was triggered.
Austria defender Danso, who has signed a five-year deal, made 10 Premier League starts for Spurs since joining on loan in January, though his mid-season move was hampered by various injuries.
Spurs also confirmed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s loan move to Marseille has been made permanent, reportedly for a fee of around £17m.
