Aston Villa defender Mings signs contract extension to 2027
Tyrone Mings' previous contract with Aston Villa was due to expire next year, but he has now committed his future to the club until 2027.
Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has signed a one-year contract extension after entering the final 12 months of his previous deal.
Mings joined Villa from Bournemouth in 2019 and has been a trusted part of Unai Emery's squad since the Spaniard arrived in late 2022.
He has played 180 times for Villa across all competitions, making 14 Premier League appearances in 2024-25 after returning from a serious knee injury in January.
Villa fell just short of qualifying for the Champions League for a second successive campaign, finishing sixth after a controversial 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on the final day. Mings was an unused substitute for that game.
Despite Villa dropping into the Europa League after a single season in Europe's premier club competition, Mings believes the best is yet to come from Emery's side.
"We've had quite the journey," Mings told Villa's website. "My belief that we can achieve something extra special is stronger than ever.
"I thank the fans, the manager, the staff and the players for their unwavering support, both on and off the pitch, through one of the toughest periods of my career. I'm sure next season will be our best one yet."
