Alba wants to continue winning after signing contract extension
Jordi Alba is the first of four Barcelona team-mates to renew his contract at Inter Miami, having done so until 2027.
Former Spain international Jordi Alba was delighted to extend his contract at Inter Miami ahead of their derby game against Orlando City this weekend.
The 36-year-old joined the club in 2023 and has since made 46 MLS appearances for them, scoring five goals and contributing 15 assists in the regular season.
"I'm happy to renew my contract because I have the desire to continue competing, and because of how I feel at the club, with the affection I receive from fans at every match," he told the official club website.
"I've been very comfortable these past two years at the club, and I feel very loved by all the fans.
"We have that desire to continue competing, to continue winning, and, hopefully, win as many titles as possible."
Alba's new contract will run to 2027 and, within that period, it is hoped he can continue to contribute both at the back and going forward.
Taking into account the regular season and playoffs, Alba recorded 20 goal contributions in 2024 (five goals and 15 assists), while he also helped the team to eight clean sheets.
He was selected as one of Inter Miami's representatives in the 2024 All-Star Game, while he has already supplied five assists in 2025.
Alba is the first of four former Barcelona team-mates to commit his future to Inter Miami, with Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez's deals all scheduled to expire at the end of the 2025 season.
