Robin Fraser has urged Toronto FC to find another level to their attack against the New England Revolution following a frustrating return to MLS action.

Toronto returned after the World Cup break on Thursday with a 0-0 draw against rivals CF Montreal, extending their winless streak to nine games (D5 L4).

In that game, the Reds failed to muster a single shot on target – the first time that has happened in an MLS match since July 2025 against Nashville SC.

And Fraser acknowledged that they had struggled to get striker Josh Sargent into the game, something he is keen to improve on against the Revs.

"I felt like in Montreal we just didn't play particularly well," Fraser told reporters. "We didn't construct a lot of really meaningful attacks.

"We had some transition moments, which are great; you're always going to have transition moments, but if we play better and more cohesively and more constructively, I think we will put together attacks that will put Josh in good positions and get him service in good places.

"There's not a magic bullet to say, 'How are we just going to get a better service?' I really think it's about us playing better as a group, moving as a group, and as we get up the field, we will see more opportunities created for him."

As for New England, they are playing for the first time since a 1-0 loss to Charlotte back in May, which was their second loss in three games (W1).

The Revs are fourth in the Eastern Conference, 10 points better off than 12th-place Toronto, and are looking to get back to winning ways.

They were boosted over the break by Peyton Miller signing a new long-term deal through to June 2029, and the 18-year-old is thrilled to be making an impact with the team.

"This club means everything to me," Miller told the media, as quoted by the Blazing Musket substack.

"I grew up watching this club, and for me to sign another contract means everything to me and to just continue to keep working."

New England Revolution – Luca Langoni

Luca Langoni has scored in each of the Revs' last two wins in MLS, netting the winner against Minnesota United and the opener against the Philadelphia Union.

He has three goals in total for the season, the joint-second-highest total in the team, but he leads the way in assists (six) despite only creating 14 chances.

Toronto FC – Jackson Gilman

Toronto failed to score for the first time in 12 MLS games last time out, getting shut out for just the second time this season, but Jackson Gilman led the way with a team-high three shots – worth 0.2 expected goals (xG) – against Montreal.

He did not get any on target, but helped Toronto stay in control, topping the charts for both aerial duels won (four) and possession won (six), as well as having the third-most touches (75).

MATCH PREDICTION: NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION WIN

New England have lost just two of their last nine MLS matches against Toronto (W4 D3), with only one of those defeats coming at home (1-0 on March 3, 2024).

The Revs have lost just once at home this season, with that defeat coming against Eastern Conference leaders Nashville SC (3-0). They have won each of their other seven matches at Gillette Stadium, scoring 17 goals in them and conceding just four times.

Toronto are playing their fourth straight road game, having failed to win any of the previous three (D1 L2). Their clean sheet against CF Montreal last time out was just their second of the season – both have come away from home.
