Luis Enrique: Thrashing Montpellier marks ideal preparation for PSG
Champions League finalists Paris Saint-Germain returned to winning ways in Ligue 1 with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Montpellier.
Luis Enrique saw Paris Saint-Germain's 4-1 thrashing of Montpellier as ideal preparation for their huge matches coming up over the rest of May.
PSG snapped a two-game losing streak in Ligue 1 in style on Saturday, as a much-changed team cruised to an emphatic away win, inspired by Goncalo Ramos' hat-trick.
With an average age of 21 years and 251 days, PSG's starting XI was the youngest ever fielded by the club in a league match.
Luis Enrique's side have long since wrapped up the Ligue 1 title and after beating Arsenal over two legs, are into the final of the Champions League, in which they will play Inter on May 31.
Before then, PSG have a Coupe de France final against Reims to look forward to on May 24, a week after they round off their league campaign against Auxerre.
"I'm very satisfied. I think we did a good job," said Luis Enrique after PSG picked up their 12th straight Ligue 1 win over Montpellier.
"We played with a lot of young players and we played a good game.
"It's the best way to prepare for the next few games. It's not easy playing away from home. It's also not easy because the team isn't playing for anything.
"But we had to stay focused, as we always do in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt.
"I'm happy, but we need to rest for a few days before preparing for our final league game next week."
Ramos marked his 50th appearance in Ligue 1 in brilliant fashion, and the Portugal international has now been involved in 13 top-flight goals this season (10 goals, three assists), surpassing his total from last term (11 goals, one assist).
"It's great. It's not easy to score four goals here, away from home," he said.
"We're very happy, and now it's time to make the most of it. It's always good to score a goal, but to score three is amazing."
