Luis Enrique targets PSG momentum ahead of Coupe de France and Champions League finals
Paris Saint-Germain will contest two cup finals later this month but, before that, they must complete their Ligue 1 campaign on Saturday.
Luis Enrique wants Paris Saint-Germain to conclude their Ligue 1 campaign with a "strong performance" against Auxerre and build momentum before their Coupe de France and Champions League finals.
PSG are just over two weeks away from potentially completing a memorable treble, including the elusive Champions League trophy.
Luis Enrique's side completed part one in a fairly routine manner by securing a fourth successive Ligue 1 title with six matches remaining.
The champions could add to their silverware collection by defeating Reims in the Coupe de France final on May 24, before facing Inter in the Champions League showpiece seven days later.
However, before any of that, PSG must complete their domestic season at home to mid-table Auxerre on Saturday.
Luis Enrique, who says he will continue to rotate his squad with the aim of maintaining their fitness levels, is still demanding the best from his players, despite the Ligue 1 title being safely in the bag.
"We want to put in a strong performance to prepare us to be competitive in the two finals that lie ahead. That is our goal," he told reporters during his pre-match press conference.
"There are three games left, and we are going to try to manage that in the best way possible, so that we can head into the two finals with most of our players available and in their best form.
"It is the same thing that we have insisted on to get to this point of the season, by winning the league and reaching the two finals.
"So, we are not going to change. We have the same goal in footballing terms, and there are no changes."
Although one thing Luis Enrique will do differently to last term is to enjoy the celebrations on the final day, having regretted not doing so 12 months ago.
PSG's Ligue 1 title-winning celebrations of 2023-24 were clouded by a 3-1 home defeat by Toulouse, just days after they lost to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-finals.
"In terms of that evening last season, I think there is a difference and I made a mistake because I didn't make the most of the festivities after a year filled with hard work," the Spaniard added.
"I hope we will make the most of it this year regardless of the result [on Saturday]. I think that celebrations after matches can be complicated sometimes.
"It is the time to celebrate with our supporters as we have won the league."
