Luis Enrique: Final-day win was best preparation for PSG's upcoming finals
Paris Saint-Germain came from behind to beat Auxerre 3-1 in their final match of the 2024-25 Ligue 1 season on Saturday.
Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique was pleased to end the Ligue 1 season with a 3-1 victory over Auxerre and build momentum ahead of two upcoming finals.
PSG's home win ensured they finished the campaign 19 points clear of second-placed Marseille, ahead of the Coupe de France final against Reims next weekend and the Champions League final against Inter the week after.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia netted a second-half brace, which was his first in the league since doing so for Napoli in Serie A in February 2024, either side of a Marquinhos goal as PSG came from behind to win.
The goal for Marquinhos, meanwhile, was his 26th in Ligue 1, which is nine more than any other defender in PSG history.
Only Loic Perrin and Mathieu Debuchy (both 27), have scored more in the French top flight in the 21st century.
"It's important to get a win and enjoy the last game at the Parc with our fans, I'm happy," Luis Enrique told the PSG club website.
"It's the best way to prepare for the two remaining finals. It's always special to play here, especially for the last game at the Parc des Princes.
"Today, we started the game by conceding a goal, but our fans still had the same mentality. It's very important for us to have that support.
"But we have to think about improving, because I think the team can still improve. That's our mentality and we're ready for the two finals."
PSG are the defending Coupe de France champions and have won seven of the last 10 editions of the tournament, though they have never won the Champions League and were losing finalists versus Bayern Munich in 2020.
